On-Page Editing
In this Framer tutorial, you will learn on-page-editing. We explain a practical workflow, highlight the key settings that affect the result, and show how to apply the technique on real pages for cleaner UX and better site performance.
Can I edit CMS content and add new pages directly from the live site?
Yes, with On-Page Editing, you can edit both CMS detail pages and collection lists directly from the live site. You can also add a brand new item to a CMS collection by clicking the Add Page button in edit mode, which instantly creates a new detail page with placeholders for each CMS field. All changes update in the CMS itself and are saved as draft items, ready for review and publishing.
How does collaboration and publishing work with On-Page Editing in Framer?
As you make edits, changes update in real time on the Framer project canvas and vice versa. When you finish editing, click Finish Editing in the editor bar to notify collaborators. Changes only go live when the project is published. If you have permission, you can publish directly; otherwise, a collaborator can review and publish the updates. Framer sends notifications for new pages or edits, and you can preview all unpublished changes before they go live.
How does On-Page Editing make website updates faster?
On-Page Editing removes the need to involve design or development for simple changes. Editors can update text, images, or CMS pages directly on the live site. All edits sync instantly to the Framer project, reducing hand-offs and keeping the site’s design consistent.
